Holy of Holies
Do you want Messiah NOW?
The Tenach and the interpretation of our
sages are very clear: Messiah would be haShem's beloved son. Messiah would
suffer and die a horrible death as an atonement for our iniquity. And
Messiah would also come as a King and Priest to establish an eternal kingdom of
righteousness.
Who is the only one who can fulfill
these prophecies?
Only one man has and ever can... Y'shua
benYossef

Know therefore and understand, that
from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto
the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two
weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
And after threescore and two weeks shall
Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that
shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall
be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
Daniel 9:25-26
This passage is the most important Messianic prophecies in the
Tenach. It details not only the purpose of the Messiah, but the timing of
his coming as the Suffering Servant of Isaiah 53.
To understand this we must simply ask when was the commandment
to restore and rebuild Jerusalem given?
And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the
twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him:
and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been beforetime
sad in his presence...
And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the
king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the
palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city,
and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according
to the good hand of my God upon me. Nehemiah 2:1 and 8
History tells us that Artaxerxes came to his throne in 465 BCE,
since this decree occurs at the start of the 20th year of his reign the date of
the decree would be 1 Nisan, 444 BCE. The prophecy of Daniel 9 deals with years, for in the
beginning of the chapter Daniel asks G-d why they were still in captivity since the 70 years prophesied
by Jeremiah had passed. So, the weeks mentioned throughout this
passage cannot be weeks of seven days but are weeks of seven years.
The passage in Daniel 9 that we are concerned with mentions
three separate periods of weeks. The first period of seven weeks would correspond to
forty-nine solar years and is the amount of time it took to rebuild the walls of
Jerusalem, exactly as the angel said. The second period of 63 weeks of
solar years would bring us to the date of 10
Nisan, 33 CE, which is a very special day.
According to the Gospels of the New Covenant writings, On the
Sunday before Passover in 33 CE, Y'shua came into the Jerusalem, through the Mercy Gate, riding
on a donkey, the foal of an ass. The people of Jerusalem cried out, "Hosanna, Baruch
haba b'shem Adonai," and ran to greet him with palms certain that Messiah had come to the Holy City.
While many have argued that Y'shua prepared this entry in
order to the appear that he was fulfilling the prophecies ascribed to
the Messiah, what they can not explain away is the fact that Y'shua did this on
the very day the prophecies say the Messiah would come!
The prophecy of Daniel 9 then states, that Messiah would be "cut
off, but not for himself." Isaiah 53 also said that the suffering
servant would be "cut off," but explained it as a sin offering for our
sake. Five days after his triumphal entry Y'shua benYossef was tried and
crucified on the second day of Passover, one of the days which Torah tells us is the
appropriate time for a free will sin sacrifice.
Only Y'shua can fulfill these prophecies. Only as the
Son of G-d could He be that sacrifice for all sin, which the Prophets proclaim
as the work of Messiah!
But the story does not end there. A third week of solar
years is also contained in the prophecy. However, before that week comes, we
are told of another prince, a prince who's people will destroy the city once
again. And of course, we know that on the ninth of Av, 70 CE, the Romans destroyed
Jerusalem and G-d's Holy Temple. Ever since that day we have been
scattered amongst the nations. We have been persecuted, and finally in
these latter of days we have been murdered in the horror of Shoah. these
events were described perfectly by the Angel who gave this prophecy. for
desolations have been accomplished on our people ever since.
And he shall confirm the covenant
with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the
sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations
he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that
determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Daniel 9:27
This final week is still to come. A week of terror, it is
called prophetically as "The time of Jacob's trouble". A time when this other
prince shall pretend to make peace with Israel. He will allow us to rebuild the
Holy Temple, but in the end he shall cause the sacrifices and oblations to cease
and initiate a war the likes of which the world has never seen.
It is at that time that Messiah benDavid will come with POWER
and establish his eternal throne upon the earth!
Only by considering the entirety of the prophecies of Messiah
can one understand that Messiah must come and suffer first and then return to
rule. Y'shua is the one who came to suffer and He will be the one to
return and rule over us all.
But you do not need to wait for His return. Y'shua is
the King of Israel and the King of all the earth. His desire and the
desire of haShem is that we allow Y'shua to be King over our own hearts.
His free will sacrifice has atoned to haShem for our sin. His work as an
anointed priest has made the way clear for us to be reconciled to G-d.
Salvation is always by faith. Abraham believed G-d and it
was counted to him as righteousness. You can receive that salvation and
atonement and reconciliation today. All you have to do is ask. It's
that simple.
